The Book of Ione

Every enemy of the Titan, as the blind seer Ione heard them.

Blood Cult

Zealots, priests and masked archers. They test your armour-breakers and punish slow kills.

  • Blood Priest

    Blood Priest

Heals his friends, so they keep standing in front of him.

A censer swings, he hums, and three wounded men near him feel much better. Silence him first. Spells slide off him.

  • Bronze Guard

    Bronze Guard

His shield is a door. Nobody's home.

A wall that walks. Arrows ring on him like rain on a bell. Bells do not like magic.

  • Fire-flask Zealot

    Fire-flask Zealot

Fire solves every problem. Eventually, including him.

Clay flasks knocking in a basket. When one breaks, your soldiers burn for three breaths.

  • Floating Priest

    Floating Priest

Floats above the fight and looks down on all of it.

Robes that never touch the ground, a prayer that never stops. He spits golden blood at your soldiers from out of reach. Spells barely bother him.

  • Blood Cult Hoplite

    Blood Cult Hoplite

Marches in perfect step. Straight into your arrows.

A tall black shield knocking on a knee, a prayer said too fast. He thinks the shield makes him holy. It only makes him slow.

  • Ichor Drinker

    Ichor Drinker

Healers advise one sip a day. He had the barrel.

He has drunk from the vein. Hurt him halfway and his heart starts to race, and so do his feet.

    Health 400 · Armor 30% · Magic res 30% · Medium

Counter: Soldiers to hold him and every tower at once

  • Masked Archer

    Masked Archer

Patient, polite, and very far away.

A string drawn behind a mask. He does not aim at your towers. He aims at your soldiers.

    Health 150 · Armor 30% · Magic res 0% · Medium

    Counter: Archers

  • Sacrifice Runner

    Sacrifice Runner

Runs at your soldiers smiling. That is the problem.

Bells on his ankles, ichor in his veins. When he falls he bursts, and your soldiers stand stunned for two breaths. Drop him before he reaches the line.

  • Blood Cult Zealot

    Blood Cult Zealot

Runs ahead of everyone. Including his own good sense.

Bare feet, many of them, and no fear at all. They were told the Titan loves whoever falls first.

Beastmen

Captives who drank ichor until they ran on four legs. Fast, tough, shrug off spells.

  • Bearman

    Bearman

Walks on four legs until he gets angry.

Fur over bronze plates. Wound him badly and he rises on his hind legs, roaring, and hits half again as hard. Finish what you start.

  • Boar Shaman

    Boar Shaman

Plays one note. Everyone runs faster to get away from it.

A horn of bone. When it sounds, four beasts near him forget they were tired. Spells barely touch him.

  • Bullman

    Bullman

Was a farmer once. Now he's the whole herd.

The ground speaks before he does. Three soldiers fly each time he swings. No armour, though. Only a great deal of bull.

  • Goatman

    Goatman

Never met a wall he wouldn't headbutt. Or a soldier.

Horns lowered. Every few breaths he runs straight through the soldiers who block him. Let the towers do the arguing.

  • Hyenaman

    Hyenaman

Laughs at everything. Mostly at your soldiers.

Laughter. Hurt it badly and it stops, once, to eat. It comes back fed. Do not let it finish the meal.

    Ichor Hound

  • Ichor Vulture

    Ichor Vulture

Circles the battlefield, waiting. It's very patient. Worry.

Ragged wings over the road. Your soldiers cannot reach what does not land, and neither can a catapult.

    Wolfman

Is his bark worse than his bite? No. Both are terrible.

Awakened Statues

Bronze turns arrows aside, white marble turns spells. Bring the right tower.

  • Bronze Horse

    Bronze Horse

No rider. It does not need one.

A bronze horse that remembers the charge and nothing else. Fast, and arrows only scratch it.

    Faceless God Statue

No face, yet everyone near it feels watched.

A god whose face was chiselled away. It drifts behind its army and wraps the three nearest statues in stone shields. Spells slide off it; arrows and stones do not.

    Flying Censer

Holy smoke! No, really. Don't breathe it.

    Flying Statue Head

A statue head that got tired of waiting for its body.

Born of the gold mist over Eye Lake. They fly, and barracks cannot reach them.

  • Cauldron Spirit

    Cauldron Spirit

Grants no wishes. Grants plenty of fire.

Smoke rising from a little bronze pot, arms crossed. It floats over your soldiers and throws gold fire down on them.

    Wailing Spirit

Her singing stuns soldiers. Critics agree.
